The Wilderness is Beautiful

The wilderness has come

not to punish,

but to reach my heart.

The wilderness is not only desert;

It is also a forest,

uncut, untouched,

dense with mystery,

yet free and full of beauty.

Like the women led

into desert places

where Gardens are like Eden,

so Love leads me here.

“Sit with Me,”

the Mothering voice says,

“It’s okay.

Let’s stay here awhile.”

Questions rise:

Why does this hurt

so deeply?

Why does the fear

cling so long?

And there,

in the silence,

I find the child

the one who longed for love

from the very beginning.

She is held now,

innocence returned,

resting in a deeper Love.

The wilderness is beautiful:

Weakness is where I reside,

yet hidden within,

I learn the beauty of leaning,

the safety of depending.

the gentle truth

that I was never meant

to carry it all alone.

The wilderness is like a forest,

uncut, untouched,

dense with mystery,

yet free and full of beauty.

The wilderness is beautiful:

Here I understand simplicity,

Nothing polished,

nothing perfect,

just the honesty of being.

Here my heart learns trust.

The wilderness is like a forest

wild and unshaded,

but alive with wonder,

teaching me to breathe,

to walk slowly,

to see hidden light through the trees.

And one day,

the voice will echo:

“Who is she

coming up from the wilderness,

leaning on her Beloved?
